About the Role

The Colorado Community College System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Director of Accessibility Services. This role is a critical part of our Student Affairs team, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement systemwide assistive technology and disability data management tools and software, providing training and support to college staff as needed.
  • Lead initiatives related to digital accessibility compliance, including developing strategies for assessment and creating best practices that align with evolving laws and technology in disability service provision.
  • Guide the development of policies and procedures for managing student disability, accessibility, and accommodation needs.
  • Participate in national, regional, and local professional organizations that cater to access and disability services, serving as the CCCS liaison to these organizations.
  • Supervise one employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of experience in disability services, accessibility remediation, or a closely related field, including experience working with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Experience working in higher education and with students with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and support of concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to partner across department and organizational units.
  • Practiced in educating students and faculty on assistive technologies.
  • Demonstrated skills in preparing professional development materials for faculty and staff.
  • Willingness to participate in national, regional, and local professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of the most recent Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Standards.

Work Environment

This position is located at the CCCS offices in Denver, Colorado. Travel within Colorado may be required up to 20% of the time. Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and hybrid-remote work, may be available. All work must be completed in the state of Colorado.
