We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to serve as our Accessibility Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating the University's implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to programs, services, and activities for students with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct intake interviews and review documentation for accommodation eligibility
- Determine reasonable accommodations and coordinate program services and student accommodations with faculty and staff
- Maintain timely and accurate electronic case notes and student records
- Counsel students on rights and responsibilities, academic accommodations, and University policies
- Develop and facilitate workshops on executive functioning and academic skills
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide guidance
- Collaborate with other student support services and participate in departmental meetings and University committees
- Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Special Education, or related field
- One year of professional work experience with individuals with disabilities in an educational, counseling, teaching, or case management setting
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Special Education, or related field
- Experience working in a postsecondary disability services office supporting students with various disabilities
- Demonstrated education, training, and/or knowledge of federal laws and regulations governing services to persons with disabilities
