Director of Software Engineering - Enterprise Solutions

We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our expanding management team responsible for overseeing software engineers who design and maintain various internal applications. Our primary users are our associates, and we handle sensitive information with the utmost security. We support a combination of SaaS and bespoke applications, and we are in search of leaders who adopt a product-centric mindset to identify optimal solutions that cater to our business partners' needs, irrespective of the technology stack employed.

As a leader in Software Engineering within Enterprise Solutions, you will merge extensive engineering expertise with a deep understanding of cutting-edge technologies, all while fostering a culture of mentorship and professional development among your team members.

Building and nurturing a robust sense of community and collaboration within your team, as well as across different teams, is essential—it holds equal importance to the technologies we select.

Required Expertise and Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Software/Systems Engineering is preferred
  • Over 10 years of experience in engineering and development
  • At least 4 years of direct experience managing a team of software engineers, including hiring, supervising, motivating, mentoring, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and executing complex enterprise-level software solutions using Java and a UI framework such as Angular
  • Proficient in Cloud-Native Engineering and DevOps practices in AWS
  • Experience with SaaS solutions (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow) is a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to cultivate strong relationships and influence at all organizational levels
  • Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies and teams operating in Agile environments
  • Intellectual curiosity to foster a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and the capacity to quickly assimilate information and anticipate changes
  • Strong understanding of how to cultivate and support a vibrant community of developers who enjoy collaborating, sharing ideas, and supporting one another
