Armed Security Officer

The Armed Security Officer (ASO) is a trained professional who has completed the necessary certification, holding federal arrest authority and the required training programs. The primary responsibilities encompass: responding to emergencies; enforcing federal and applicable state laws; conducting patrols, inspections, and searches; managing traffic enforcement and investigations; executing arrests and transporting individuals; providing protective services for company-owned or leased properties; safeguarding equipment and materials; controlling access to facilities for employees, visitors, and residents; and fulfilling additional assigned tasks. The ASO is equipped with a sidearm, shotgun, or other necessary weapons as mandated. Key Responsibilities
Adhere to all organizational policies and safety protocols while performing assigned duties safely. Arrive at the workplace in the designated uniform and carry the required issued equipment. Be prepared to utilize force, including lethal force if necessary. Participate in Guard Mount, receive post assignments, and note any additional instructions. Execute general and specific orders for the assigned post. Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and verbally as per directives. Engage with the public and government personnel as required. Provide access control, manage traffic, and perform both foot and vehicle-based armed security duties. Maintain the cleanliness of the uniform and assigned equipment. Follow standard operating procedures and regulations concerning the security of weapons, facilities, personnel, and company property. Conduct inspections of personnel, vehicles, buildings, and packages. Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary. As a critical role, be prepared to report for emergency duty during hurricanes, disasters, or declared emergencies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be at least 21 years old. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in military or law enforcement is preferred. Must be honorably discharged if applicable. Completion of NBTS is required before assuming an armed post. ICS-100 and ICS-200 certifications are required within 120 days of appointment. ERO Certification is mandatory. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is necessary, though not required to start. Must comply with drug testing and maintain an alcohol-free workplace. Proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and understanding instructions and training materials. No history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture is permitted. No felony convictions or convictions that may affect reliability are allowed. Must qualify periodically on a firearms course. Must meet NASA Physical Certifications and complete psychological examinations. Compliance with federal law requires verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire. Successful completion of the Initial Physical Agility Test (IPAT) is required, which includes a one-mile run and an obstacle course within specified time limits.
