  • The Armed Security Officer is a trained professional who has completed the necessary certification, possessing authority to enforce federal laws and regulations. The primary responsibilities encompass responding to emergencies, enforcing laws, conducting patrols, inspections, and searches, managing traffic enforcement, and initiating arrests when necessary. This role includes safeguarding property and personnel at designated facilities, controlling access, and executing various security-related tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and safety protocols while performing duties safely.
  • Arrive at the assigned location in the appropriate uniform, equipped with necessary tools.
  • Be prepared to utilize force when required, including lethal measures.
  • Participate in daily briefings, receive post assignments, and follow additional instructions as needed.
  • Execute general and specific orders for the assigned post.
  • Communicate effectively through radio and other means as per directives.
  • Engage with the public and government officials as required.
  • Manage access control, oversee traffic, and conduct both foot and vehicle patrols.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of uniforms and equipment.
  • Follow established operating procedures and regulations regarding the security of personnel and property.
  • Conduct thorough checks of individuals, vehicles, and facilities, as well as inspect packages.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
  • As a critical role, be prepared for emergency duty during significant events.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Preferred experience of 1-3 years in military or law enforcement roles.
  • Must be honorably discharged if applicable.
  • Completion of necessary training and certifications within specified timeframes.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license is essential.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is necessary.
  • Must comply with drug testing and maintain an alcohol-free status.
  • Proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
  • No history of illegal drug use or felony convictions.
  • Ability to pass physical fitness assessments and psychological evaluations.
  • Verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.
