Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical services team at ResCare Community Living. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality health services to our clients.

About the Role:
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate health services for all assigned service sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide oversight and direction for clinical services, and health & wellness for all clients in assigned area of responsibility, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
  • Supervise all nursing personnel and ensure care and services are coordinated with behavioral and programmatic staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure quality of care & services, regulatory compliance, support of business development & growth, achievement of key performance indicators, management of nursing performance and staff development, and maintenance of state regulatory certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and direct the selection and hiring of clinical staff, ensuring a diverse and skilled team that meets the needs of our clients.
  • Conduct quarterly quality improvement meetings and oversee the implementation of improvement plans, driving continuous improvement and excellence in clinical services.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director in the implementation of quality improvement activities and corrective action plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Participate in weekly team/staff meetings and Interdisciplinary team (IDT/PDP) meetings, promoting open communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Chair committees as applicable (e.g. safety, infection control, incident/accident review, human rights, etc.), ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all staff and clients.
  • Develop and implement person-centered care plans in collaboration with nursing, behavioral and programmatic team members, promoting a culture of person-centered care and individualized support.
  • Provide training and education to staff on clinical processes, medication administration, and other relevant topics, ensuring staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
  • Ensure delegated clinical tasks are completed appropriately and that delegates receive applicable training, supervision, and routine performance reviews, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Ensure on-call nursing coverage and participate in on-call rotation as needed, ensuring 24/7 coverage and support for our clients.
  • Assist operations management team in fostering positive community relations with external customers, promoting a positive image of ResCare Community Living and our services.
  • Oversee and respond to external and internal surveys and audits within assigned area relating to health services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure timely completion of mortality reviews and submission to State Health Services Director and Assigned Director, Clinical Practice, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor utilization reports and ensure adequate hours on client plans, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective delivery of services.
  • Ensure nursing services are delivered according to authorizations and plan of care, promoting a culture of person-centered care and individualized support.
  • Monitor due dates for nursing assessments and ensure timely completion, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.
  • Ensure all medication and service authorizations are obtained timely, promoting a culture of compliance and regulatory adherence.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State.
  • Must have no less than 2 years nursing experience, and at least 1 year in related management/supervisory role.
  • Experience in providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, or related disorders preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license, with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to use a computer utilizing company documentation systems.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Capable of working responsibly with highly confidential information.
  • Maintain state regulatory certifications, as required by state/program requirements.
