Patient Service Coordinator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Allergy Partners. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, ensuring seamless patient flow, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Registration: Register patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and index relevant documentation into our practice management system.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, provide patients with clear instructions, and ensure proper posting of charges into our system.
- Payment Collection: Collect payment from patients at the time of service, balance daily transactions, and reconcile encounters with payment transactions.
- Office Operations: Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensure all faxes are cleared, and distribute mail as assigned.
- Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office or customer service position.
- Proven success asking for payment, making change, and balancing a cash drawer.
- Working knowledge of basic managed care terminology and practices.
Working Conditions:
This position requires frequent contact with patients, working under stressful conditions, and exposure to bodily fluids on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will be comfortable dealing with conflicts and asking patients for money.
