Position Title: Configuration Management Analyst at The Pennsylvania State University

We are seeking a seasoned Configuration Management Analyst to contribute to our DevSecOps Department within the Cyber, Modeling and Simulation Division at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at The Pennsylvania State University. In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and uniformity of our software and hardware configurations. If you possess a meticulous eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a robust background in configuration management, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying and assessing optimal technologies to enhance program development
  • Facilitate systematic management of technical modifications
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide expert guidance in addressing configuration management challenges
  • Design and deliver training for the adoption of new technologies
  • Oversee configuration management databases and repositories
  • Detect and rectify configuration inconsistencies promptly
  • Continuously monitor and refine configuration management processes
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate documentation of configuration alterations
  • Remain informed about industry advancements in configuration management methodologies
  • Mentor and train junior team members
  • Engage with software development teams for version control and release management
  • Participate in client meetings, offering technical insights on configuration management issues
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards

This role necessitates a Bachelor's Degree, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher-level positions may demand additional qualifications.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with industry or US Government standards for configuration management
  • Understanding of tools utilized in configuration management initiatives
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Siemens TeamCenter and Atlassian JIRA
  • Possession of an active government security clearance
  • Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
