**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Digital Transformation Expert to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. This role will focus on frontend web development, working on Parametric's client-facing websites and customer experience.

About the Role:

This position reports to a Principal Software Engineer on the Digital Platform Team in the IT Organization. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work collaboratively with the broader Digital Team and Parametric business partners to prioritize epic and feature development and execute on both strategic and tactical product enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Own and oversee the development, maintenance, and evolution of the web component library.
  2. Work closely with the UX team to ensure the component library is integrated with the Parametric design system, including design tokens, typography, and brand color schemes.
  3. Collaborate with business partners, designers, and developers to gather feedback, identify common needs, and ensure the component library meets the needs of various websites.
  4. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the component library, including usage guidelines, best practices, and examples to ensure consistency and ease of use across teams.
  5. Ensure components meet quality standards, including accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  6. Establish governance processes for the contribution to and adoption of the component library, including versioning and release strategies to manage changes and dependencies effectively.
  7. Implement product features for public websites with a focus on quality and customer experience.
  8. Create unit/integration/functional tests.
  9. Build and maintain well-documented, scalable, flexible, accessible, and reusable UI components.
  10. Follow our development process and guidelines.
  11. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in component library development to continually innovate and improve the library.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of front-end web development experience using Angular (or similar modern front-end technology).
  2. Proficiency in creating reusable and modular UI components using component libraries such as Storybook (Ladle, Bit, or Pattern Lab) that seamlessly integrate with various websites.
  3. 2+ years hands-on experience in building and maintaining component libraries; keeping the library up to date while adapting to new business requirements.
  4. 2+ years of experience in developing UI conforming to the WCAG accessibility standards.
  5. Good understanding of web accessibility concepts and best practices.
  6. Hands-on experience in writing UI tests such as visual testing, cross-browser testing, and interaction testing on component libraries.
  7. Strong understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
  8. Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
  9. Education/basic training related to web development.
  10. Experience with source control systems like GitHub.
  11. Awareness of Agile development processes such as Kanban or Scrum.
  12. Comfortable in a highly collaborative environment.
  13. Effective communication skills.
  14. Awareness of web testing frameworks and practices.
  15. Awareness of CI/CD tooling.
  16. Candidates should have experience, training, or basic familiarity with the following languages and frameworks:

  • JavaScript
  • Angular

What We Offer:

Morgan Stanley offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
