Job Title: General Ledger Accounting Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Ledger Accounting Manager to join our team at Better Debt Solutions. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading our accounting team and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead an accounting team of three accountants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Oversee cash flows and review treasury cash summaries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and analyze financial reports, including budgets, KPI reports, forecasts, and executive-level financial reports.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounts reconciliation, including treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
  • Support the operations department with monthly commissions calculations and ad-hoc financial tasks.
  • Verify that the finance function is compliant and enforce collaboration and accountability across all departments.
  • Assist with finance ad-hoc assignments as needed.
  • Develop and implement internal controls for all accounting processes.
  • Act as a liaison between internal departments and accounting, serving as a point of contact between accounting and external parties, including clients, suppliers, and lenders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in audit experience and 4-5 years of managing a team of accounting resources.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with a flexible mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and availability to manage growth.
  • Forward thinking and a team player.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
