About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at New Mexico Bank & Trust. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for originating new business banking relationships and cross-selling existing clients within a portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in business development activities to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to increase revenue and expand our market share.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Retail, Private Banking, and Treasury Management, to identify and offer additional products and services to clients.
  • Participate in the underwriting and documentation of loans and credit facilities.
  • Monitor and manage a portfolio of loans to ensure credit quality and minimize risk.
  • Assist in achieving positive CRA metrics by working with bank-level, regional, or HTLF CRA Officers.
  • Complete annual training and stay up-to-date on Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of banking experience with lending experience preferred.
  • General understanding of business tax returns, P&L statements, business cash flow, and personal financial statements.
  • Good understanding of credit documentation and credit risk.
  • Basic understanding of loan, deposit, and Treasury Management products.
  • Demonstrated success in sales and business development.
