Job Summary

The Director of Student Activities develops and implements comprehensive student involvement and activities programs that foster school spirit, enhance the Rensselaer student experience, and support the unique student-staff partnership that characterizes the operation of the Rensselaer Union.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employ best practices in facilitating student personal and professional development, creating opportunities for growth, and strengthening student clubs, including student government and class councils.
  • Advise student leaders and organization representatives in event planning, financial management, safety, and liability/risk compliance.
  • Contribute to student recruitment and retention efforts in support of enrollment, graduation, and student success for undergraduate and graduate students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five or more years of experience in finance, budgeting, student counseling, and event planning
  • Relevant combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, College/Student Personnel, or a related field
  • Valid US driver's license and ability to operate a 14-passenger van
