Position Summary

As a proactive organization regarding health and safety, we adhere to all applicable regulations to protect our members and staff. The Aquatic Safety Educator will be responsible for delivering swimming instruction and facilitating aquatic activities that align with program objectives while fostering relationships among participants and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Red Cross 'Learn to Swim' programs for participants aged 6-21.
  • Collaborate with the Aquatics Director to design engaging and age-appropriate swimming activities.
  • Ensure that all planned activities are executed as scheduled and monitor participant progress.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills in addressing participant needs in aquatic settings.
  • Complete necessary reports and documentation on a daily basis.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to address and redirect inappropriate behavior.
  • Participate in required departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a lifeguard, instructor, or in a similar role.
  • Proven leadership experience in educational, social service, or youth development environments.
  • Understanding of supervision, organization, and maintenance principles.
  • Current Water Safety Certification from the American Red Cross is mandatory.
  • Experience working with children is essential.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification is required.
