Role Summary:
As an Aquatic Safety Educator, you will serve as a Lifeguard, ensuring the health and safety of all participants in the aquatic environment. You will also conduct swimming lessons and private swim sessions as scheduled.
- Engage and collaborate with all member and client groups.
- Build partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Duties (90%)
- Act as a Lifeguard to maintain the safety and well-being of all members and clients in the pool and surrounding areas.
- Instruct learn-to-swim classes and/or private swim sessions as per the schedule.
- Coordinate with the Aquatics Director and facilities team to ensure the organization and cleanliness of pool areas and locker rooms.
- Provide outstanding customer service to all members and clients at all times.
- Address and resolve member/client inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Guide clients regarding established Aquatics protocols and procedures.
Secondary Duties (10%)
- Foster professional relationships with colleagues, participants, and guests.
- Attend Aquatics Staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Essential Knowledge:
- Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent.
- Current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and courteous approach.
- Availability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends (10 – 17 hours per week).
- Team-oriented with a passion for building relationships.
- Understanding of Aquatics industry standards.
- Proactive and hands-on work ethic, demonstrating professionalism.
- Self-motivated, efficient, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.
