Position Summary: This role, under the guidance of the Aquatics Director, involves ensuring safety within the Natatorium by preventing incidents through the enforcement of established policies, rules, and regulations applicable to members and guests. Additional duties include monitoring the facility for potential risks or unsafe conditions, administering first aid, and performing other necessary tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and uphold a secure environment for all participants.
- Effectively communicate and enforce all regulations and pool rules in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist swimmers entering and exiting the pool as needed.
- Complete daily checklists and conduct pool readings as directed.
- Perform chemical assessments on an hourly basis or as specified in the pool log, reporting any unusual findings to the director.
- Support instructors with equipment and assist during classes.
- Maintain vigilant observation of all swimmers.
- Remain on deck at all times.
- Report any necessary repairs to the supervisor.
- Participate in staff training sessions.
- Engage in member service training.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrate an understanding and openness to Jewish traditions and values.
- Attend all relevant meetings and events that align with the department's objectives and responsibilities.
- Actively promote the mission, membership, programs, events, and charitable initiatives of the JCC to members and the broader community.
- Familiarize oneself with the mission, vision statements, and Core Values of the JCC, embodying these values in interactions with members and staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 15 years.
- Current and maintained American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
- Current and maintained CPR for the professional rescuer, first aid, and AED certifications.
Work Schedule: Part-Time
