Work Schedule: Varies, including evenings and occasional weekends; operational hours range from 8 AM to 8 PM, with Saturday hours from 8:30 AM to 1 PM as needed.

Compensation: $24.72 per hour

Our compensation framework is designed to offer competitive pay based on relevant experience and educational background. Discussions regarding individual compensation will take place during the hiring process and may continue during performance reviews and promotional evaluations. Salary variations depend on experience, education, and current market conditions. Human Resources will determine equitable salaries for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

The Medical Office Receptionist will play a vital role in managing the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal patient care.

  • Handle all essential receptionist tasks, including answering, screening, and directing phone calls. Take messages and ensure timely delivery.
  • Evaluate incoming calls, determining urgency and escalating critical medical inquiries to the appropriate medical personnel.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other systems for patient check-in/check-out, verifying demographics, insurance details, and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Input and scan patient information into the EMR system.
  • Process payments as required.
  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of patient arrivals, delays, or backlogs, and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments and remind them of necessary documentation for their visits.
  • Coordinate any required services or procedures.
  • Obtain referrals, authorizations, and eligibility verifications as needed.
  • Contact patients regarding changes in appointment schedules.
  • Monitor office supply inventory and communicate needs to the office manager.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Provide coverage for evening and weekend shifts as necessary, ensuring the integrity of client information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent typing abilities and courteous telephone manners.

Preferred:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Office Administration program.
  • Six months of experience as a Medical Receptionist in a busy medical practice.
  • One year of clerical experience.
  • Proficiency in using EMR and practice management systems.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include regular communication with patients, staff, and medical providers. The employee must be able to convey accurate information effectively. This position is primarily sedentary, requiring the employee to remain in a stationary position for most of the day. Any additional physical requirements will be outlined by management.
