Avante Centers Nursing Unit Supervisor

Objective: The Avante Centers Nursing Unit Supervisor is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to residents, families, colleagues, and visitors while maintaining the core values of Avante as a healthcare provider. This role is pivotal in overseeing staffing needs, guiding nursing personnel, and ensuring high-quality resident care within the designated unit. The position encompasses staff training and the execution of innovative healthcare practices aimed at improving systems and processes for enhanced patient outcomes. The Nursing Unit Supervisor possesses the administrative authority to execute assigned responsibilities and provide direct care to residents in accordance with established protocols.

Qualifications:

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license as per federal and state regulations.

Minimum age requirement of 18 years.

Completion of high school education or equivalent.

Fluency in English is essential.

Capability to supervise and mentor others.

Prior experience in a supervisory role or completion of necessary training.

Current CPR certification is required.

A positive attitude towards elderly care is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee operations in a primary care environment.

Comply with Avante guidelines for assessment, treatment, and documentation.

Maintain effective communication with physicians regarding resident care.

Ensure timely and accurate documentation practices.

Provide guidance and support to nursing staff.

Facilitate effective problem-solving and communication among team members.

Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Monitor documentation of resident records.

Serve as a resource for nursing staff and personnel.

Coordinate staffing schedules efficiently.

Promote positive interactions with residents and their families.

Uphold policies regarding resident rights.

Conduct regular staff meetings to enhance communication.

Maintain professional and clinical skills through ongoing education.

Adhere to facility policies and engage in quality improvement initiatives.

Provide or participate in educational training sessions.

Exhibit respect, compassion, and integrity in all professional interactions.

Demonstrate a genuine passion for caregiving in all engagements.

Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as required.

Fulfill all assigned responsibilities.

Additional Duties:

A. Assist in the development of resident assessments and care plans.

B. Recommend and monitor inventory needs for the unit.

C. Participate in the training and development of staff.

D. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

This role requires various physical and sensory capabilities.

Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

Registered Nurse (RN) with valid licensure.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school education or equivalent is necessary.

Proficiency in English is required.

Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Familiarity with nursing practices, laws, and regulations is essential.

Current CPR certification is mandatory.
