POSITION SUMMARY:
The role is dedicated to delivering exceptional care by ensuring Quality/No Harm, enhancing Customer Experience, and practicing Stewardship. This is achieved through leadership in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in alignment with professional nursing standards. Individualized nursing care is tailored to meet the cultural, spiritual, and age-specific needs of each patient.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Quality/No Harm: The RN will demonstrate effective medication administration as evidenced by:
- Utilization of Preceptor Observation Tools, Skills Fair Demonstrations, and Clinical Practice evaluations.
- Exhibiting appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care tasks within the healthcare environment.
- Facilitating effective communication with healthcare team members to promote cohesive team dynamics.
- Employing Health First computer systems for order entry, inquiries, and patient care documentation.
- Demonstrating safe clinical practices through Skills Fair demonstrations, annual Competency Assessments, and Age-Specific Checklists.
- Coordinating interdisciplinary care plans based on current evidence-based practices.
- Documenting all nursing interventions, changes in patient condition, responses to therapies, treatments, procedures, and referrals to meet established standards.
- Exhibiting dependability, reliability, and adaptability in all responsibilities.
Customer Experience:
- Providing education to patients, families, and caregivers as per the care plan.
- Delivering services to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their diverse needs, expectations, and backgrounds.
- Contributing positively to patient experiences, as reflected in patient satisfaction metrics and feedback.
Stewardship:
- Utilizing and maintaining equipment and supplies in an economical manner.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in Florida or endorsement.
- Possession of a valid AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to employment.
- Certifications as mandated by the specific unit.
- Compliance with unit-specific care requirements.
- Proficiency in understanding and communicating in English, both written and verbal.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination necessary for clinical tasks.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
- Ability to lift, turn, pull, push, or assist patients/equipment for the majority of the assigned shift.
- Capability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted for a portion of the assigned shift.
- Physical endurance to stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the majority of the assigned shift.
- Potential exposure to biohazardous materials and infectious diseases.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to function in a high-stress environment with patients and families of varying ages and comprehension levels.
- Capacity to concentrate on multiple high-priority tasks.
- Ability to respond effectively to life-threatening situations.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.
