Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our SDK engineering team, a vital component of the Amplitude ecosystem. You will take full ownership of our open-source data collection libraries and plugins, which are utilized by numerous clients to transmit hundreds of billions of events to Amplitude monthly. If you are enthusiastic about developing software that impresses fellow developers and transforms their approach to analytics, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of features for a new Amplitude product tailored for the Android platform.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of Amplitude's mobile products, including our mobile analytics SDK.
  • Simplify the data setup process from SDK integration to the creation of initial charts within Amplitude.
  • As a versatile engineer, write and test code across multiple programming languages, often within the same day.
  • Provide technical support to clients implementing our analytics SDKs in their applications.
  • Create developer documentation for publication in READMEs and our technical documentation site.
  • Enhance CI/CD processes to automate the build, testing, and deployment of SDKs to their respective package managers.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with product and design teams to refine our offerings.
  • Lead engineering discussions and mentor peers on best engineering practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing SDKs or libraries for mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with app development for iOS and Android using Swift, Kotlin, React Native, or Flutter.
  • Full-stack development experience is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with game engines is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to design excellence.
  • History of delivering libraries with well-designed APIs, widely used within your organization or as open-source software.
