Job Description

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Wireless Network Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our OpsTech IT Wireless Reliability Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering software-defined, automated, and incrementally scalable Wireless network infrastructure products that improve the reliability of our wireless services for Amazon's fulfillment centers and transportation sites, worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Wireless networking engineering and operational practices, with experience in developing organizational technical strategies to ensure improved availability of large-scale wireless networks. You will partner with Software, Operations, and Engineering teams to define, build, and automate future solutions that enable faster, scalable management globally.

Key responsibilities will include identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions that improve the availability of our wireless network technologies, partnering with peer teams to understand customer problems and find technological solutions, defining and metering the availability of our existing and future network solutions, and identifying and delivering solutions that reduce operational impact to customers.

We are looking for a talented engineer who can dive deep on complex problems, develop and deliver corrective actions, evaluate new technologies, and innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life cycle management.

As a member of our Global organization, you will be part of a team that provides 24x7 escalation service on shift rotation basis, and may be required to work night and weekend shifts. You will also contribute to hiring and developing top talent at Amazon.

Key qualifications include 3+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl, 5+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment, and 5+ years of network routing/switching or wifi experience. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl, and 8+ years of network routing/switching or wifi experience.
