Network Administrator Role Overview

LaSalle Network is partnering with a leading organization in Nashville to find a skilled Network Administrator to join their team on a contract basis. This role requires on-site presence in Nashville and involves providing technical support for the organization's network environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess network needs, install components, perform upgrades, and monitor performance to ensure optimal network functionality.
  • Develop and implement security policies for Software Defined (SD)-Access networks to protect against potential threats.
  • Manage Cisco SD-Access and identity service engine (ISE) security policies to maintain a secure network environment.
  • Update and manage documentation for LAN and WAN networks to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Define network project scope and goals based on business requirements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, oversee, and coordinate upgrades to network assets and infrastructure to maintain a stable and efficient network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with wired and wireless networks, as well as VLANS, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Conduct and analyze sniffer traces with comprehensive TCP/IP protocol knowledge to identify and resolve network issues.
  • Lead the review and implementation of network projects and address technical issues as required to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Respond to unexpected network or computing disruptions to minimize their impact on business operations.
  • Establish hardware access for router, switch, and server use by users to ensure secure and controlled access.
  • Analyze equipment performance records to determine repair or replacement needs to maintain optimal network performance.
  • Assess hardware and software requirements for network changes to ensure compatibility and minimize disruptions.
  • Install enhancements and procedures to improve network availability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with users to identify system issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure network configuration complies with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) controls to maintain a secure network environment.
  • Evaluate network topology and devise strategies for network resilience to ensure business continuity.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when necessary to ensure 24/7 network availability.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Cisco environment to ensure expertise in Cisco products and technologies.
  • Familiarity with Cisco products such as ISE and Cisco SD-Access to ensure a strong understanding of network security and management.
