Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Officer (Specialist) to join our team at the Department of Rehabilitation. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional accountant to play a vital role in establishing and maintaining accounts payable.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced accounting work, exercising initiative, independence, and originality in support of financial services operations. They will consistently demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records;
  • Perform complex accounting tasks, including reconciliations and analysis;
  • Develop and implement effective accounting procedures and policies;
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in accounting, preferably with experience in accounts payable;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Work Environment

This role is based in Sacramento, California, and involves working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be required to commute to our office located in the city center.
