Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated Residential Waste Collection Operators to join our team at Live Oak Environmental in Mount Vernon. This role involves the safe operation of a heavy-duty vehicle for waste collection in residential areas.

Compensation:

$21 - $24 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently drive a heavy-duty truck within residential neighborhoods to collect waste materials.
  • Collaborate with a fellow driver to perform cart emptying tasks effectively.
  • Comply with safety regulations, including OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Conduct thorough pre-and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Report any safety issues or service-related concerns to the Route Supervisor or Dispatch promptly.
  • Engage in all required training sessions and meetings organized by Live Oak Environmental.
  • Work alongside Route Supervisors to improve route efficiency and implement best practices.
  • Communicate any incidents, accidents, or property damage to the Route Supervisor or Manager.
  • Effectively relay customer requests to the Route Supervisor or Dispatch.
  • Identify and report containers that require repair or replacement.
  • Complete and submit customer service tickets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follow assigned route instructions and ensure end-of-day documentation is completed.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Route Supervisor or Dispatch to meet customer expectations.
Qualifications:

The following qualifications are essential for this position:

Education and Experience:

  • No formal education required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience operating a vehicle that requires a CDL.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air brake endorsement.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment DOT drug screening and physical examination.
  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts, including day shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
