About the Role

As a Mental Health Support Specialist at Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program, you will play a vital role in supporting residents throughout their treatment experience. Your primary responsibility will be to assist and support clients in achieving their goals and promoting a healthier and more productive life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Support: Greet new clients, introduce them to their primary treatment team, and determine any special needs that require attention.
  • Treatment Plan Implementation: Contribute to the well-being of all clients by serving as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behavior, and facilitating the treatment plan set forth by the Therapist.
  • Therapeutic Groups: Engage clients in therapeutic groups to promote coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, education, and life skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in a weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting and share vital information about client progress with the treatment team.
  • Confidentiality: Understand and maintain the confidential nature of all client and program-related activities.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain an inviting environment by ensuring the house is tidy and clean at all times.
  • Discharge Support: Assist Therapists in the discharge process by helping clients transition home.
  • Professional Development: Attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities, and be familiar with the Philosophy, Mission, and Objectives of Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must be able to work daily with clients, manage crisis situations, and derive satisfaction from making a positive difference in their lives. You will be empowered to be creative in your approach and integrate personal strengths, skills, and passions into your work.
