About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Discovery Behavioral Health. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients in their journey to a healthier and more productive life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support residents through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge.
  • Contribute insightful, practical, and meaningful information to support the client's behavior, mood, and healing process.
  • Role-model appropriate and supportive behavior based on your training and experience.
  • Support our clients in their daily activities, including meal times, and maintain a clean and inviting environment.
  • Facilitate the treatment plan set forth by the Therapist by providing day-to-day support.
  • Engage clients in therapeutic groups to promote coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, education, and life skills.
  • Participate in a weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting and share vital information of the client's progress with the treatment team.
  • Understand and maintain the confidential nature of all client and program-related activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • One year of experience working with children, mental health, counseling, or eating disorders field preferred.
  • Must attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities.
  • Must possess a current Driver's License in good standing.
