Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with performing essential maintenance activities to ensure that machines, mechanical equipment, and the overall structure of the markets remain in excellent working order. This role encompasses general upkeep and maintenance of market facilities, requiring a keen eye for identifying and addressing potential safety hazards promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues, executing both minor and major repairs as well as preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks, including drain systems, motors, and fluid levels.
  • Construct, repair, and maintain various market facilities, including wooden and metal structures.
  • Estimate labor and material costs for maintenance tasks and procure necessary supplies.
  • Perform building maintenance, including repairs to doors, windows, and furniture assembly.
  • Operate various tools and equipment safely and maintain them in good working condition.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Manage groundskeeping duties, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control within the facilities.
  • Exhibit attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
  • Demonstrate physical stamina to manage an active work environment.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in routine equipment maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Knowledge of trade tools and methods in maintenance and repair across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate solutions and approaches to maintenance challenges.
  • Familiarity with record-keeping practices and building regulations.

Experience:
