PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy of guest accounts by reconciling the income from various departments. This includes posting charges related to room occupancy, taxes, and local phone usage to guest accounts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately posts all charges to guest accounts.
- Processes and records payments made by guests.
- Reconciles departmental transactions to the initial cash amount by reviewing and re-taping all departmental vouchers from the start of the business day. All tapes must be properly labeled and dated.
- Compiles a revenue report, ensuring to include all applicable daily rates.
- Records room, tax, and local call charges for the day, ensuring total room revenue aligns with the room revenue report.
- Completes a high balance credit report, documenting all cash customer balances, particularly those exceeding $300. This report is to be submitted to management daily for review, with copies retained at the property level.
- Prepares the Housekeeper's Report by 7 a.m. each day, detailing the status of check-outs, current stays, vacant, and out-of-order rooms from the previous night.
- Efficiently assigns rooms to incoming guests with a courteous approach.
- Maintains an accurate count of walk-in reservations.
- Prioritizes phone etiquette and adheres to basic courtesy standards.
- Records and executes all wake-up calls accurately.
- Provides guests with information in a polite and professional manner.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of emergency procedures and policies.
- Completes the night audit by the change of shift at 7 a.m., sharing relevant information with department heads, especially regarding breakfast service and meeting arrangements.
- Ensures compliance with all internal control policies as dictated by hotel procedures.
- Submits all required reports and vouchers to the General Manager for review and approval.
- Prepares and presents breakfast in an appealing manner, replenishing amenities as necessary.
