Job Summary:

As an Office Assistant at CommonSpirit Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics and hospitals. You will be responsible for performing front office processes, including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, referrals, and electronic medical records. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and regulatory policies are met.
  • Manage electronic medical records, including copying and scanning patient documents and maintaining accurate records.
  • Process patient payments and respond to insurance and billing inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate scheduling with practitioners and ensure proper coverage of patient appointments.
  • Retrieve, file, and maintain patient charts and medical records according to office protocol.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and payers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the clinic.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of related experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of clinic procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records and reports in the Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
