Job Description

The Route Sales Associate plays a vital role in building strong relationships with customers, ensuring their expectations are met, and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet sales targets and drive route growth, service agreement renewal, and customer retention to enhance market center profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business revenue through selling new products to existing customers and acquiring new accounts.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, providing outstanding service by adopting an account ownership mentality.
  • Focus on account retention, seeking opportunities to improve the account by being the primary point of contact for customer issues and opportunities.
  • Ensure products are loaded and unloaded safely, delivered in the correct quantities, and merchandise is stocked and rotated.
  • Operate Company vehicles safely and courteously, adhering to road rules and regulations.
  • Verify daily vehicle maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck interior, complying with DOT requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels at customer locations, ensuring proper quality and working condition.
  • Accurately account for all monies and product daily, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Practice active listening and communicate effectively under challenging conditions through internal and external communication channels.
  • Communicate with GM, RSM, CSM, and CSA regarding customer interactions and reports on pending issues or competitor activity.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a position requiring heavy public interaction.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT-regulated vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and operations staff.
  • The ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Proficiency in selling products to customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • An acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent client interaction, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently and independently.
