About the Role

ITT Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective manufacturing of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing plans to support new product design, new product introductions, or modifications to existing products and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Planning, and Design Engineering, to ensure that products and processes meet customer quality, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
  • Conduct process analysis, apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and solicit input from production personnel to evaluate manufacturing processes.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assure process control and reliability for assigned areas and coordinate input and recommendations, and implement changes that may cross multiple organizations.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements.
  • Determine root cause of failure using statistical methods (e.g. design of experiment, statistical process control) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor standards, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and present findings and underlying rationale to Engineering, Production, suppliers, or customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two or more years of related experience and Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SME) or Mechanical Engineering (ASME) certification desired.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production engineering principles, concepts, and general business operations.
  • General knowledge of electrical power connectors or similar electromechanical interconnect systems for high voltage applications.
  • Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, pull systems, process mapping, JIT).
  • Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM (Pro-E desirable) systems or other computer-aided manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to work on a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings, technical manuals, and policies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management.
  • Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
