About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to define, scale, and refine our production processes as our organization expands. This role involves collaboration with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and assembly teams as necessary.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document manufacturing process flow diagrams that illustrate the current state of robot production, using this documentation to establish systems and processes for improved manufacturing practices.
  • Design and implement production lines and workstations for robot assembly, optimizing material flow and balancing operational loads.
  • Create an initial version of Glacier's quality assurance and quality control systems, including part evaluation and a Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Utilize insights from your observations and feedback from the manufacturing team to enhance processes and create manufacturing jigs that improve manufacturability, minimize errors, and optimize cycle times.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to the engineering team and incorporate design modifications into manufacturing workflows.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer, with a background in developing manufacturing processes from inception or establishing new production lines.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering for products that integrate both hardware and software components.
  • A proactive self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software for designing jigs and fixtures.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on driving issues to resolution.
  • Adaptability to evolving responsibilities as Glacier's manufacturing team grows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
