Position Overview

PeaceHealth is in search of a Critical Care Registered Nurse for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Day shift. The compensation range for this role is $40.09 – $76.12, influenced by various factors such as education, experience, and applicable agreements.

Incentives such as Hiring and Relocation Bonuses may be available.

This role involves delivering professional nursing care directly to patients, adhering to established practice standards and unit protocols. The position emphasizes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to patient care, engaging with families and all members of the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, implement, and assess patient care requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Supervise and assign tasks to team members based on their qualifications and demonstrated skills.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and education to enhance personal effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the formulation and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as quality improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Specialty certification is advantageous.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of recent ICU experience is required.
  • Proven competence in the relevant area of expertise is necessary.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required in accordance with training completion policies.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development to meet patient needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive patient and family-centered environment.
  • Capability to support and interpret the medical center's philosophy, policies, and procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills is required.

Work Environment

Physical Demands

  • Ability to handle patients weighing up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices.
  • Fine motor skills necessary for operating medical equipment and performing precise tasks.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling of loads up to 45 lbs.
  • Capability to perform CPR for extended periods as needed.
  • Frequent movement around the work area, including sitting, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasional lifting of non-patient items up to 20 lbs.

Environmental Factors

  • Exposure to biohazards, bodily fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a noisy environment.

Mental and Visual Requirements

  • Vision and hearing must be within normal limits (corrective devices permitted).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information.

Additional Information

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement, and multiple openings may exist.
