Technical Service Specialist
Overview: The Technical Service Specialist will play a vital role in executing installations, semiconductor wet chemical processing, and commissioning of chemical or slurry distribution systems on Mega Fluid Systems equipment. This position involves providing comprehensive support for our equipment, including upgrades and warranty services at client locations. The Technical Service Specialist must demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively lead or follow during installations, upgrades, and warranty services.
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contributing to and potentially leading projects for installations, wet bench setups, and chemical commissioning on Mega Fluid Systems equipment. Providing general support for our equipment, including upgrades and warranty services at client sites.
- Demonstrating the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Showing a proven ability to lead or follow during installations, upgrades, and warranty services.
- Utilizing Mega Fluid Systems hardware and software products to independently or collaboratively observe, report, and communicate data regarding the condition of manufacturing support equipment and materials.
- Exhibiting knowledge and proficiency in responding to routine, severe, and emergency situations; possessing the experience necessary to react calmly under pressure and implement safe, effective solutions.
- Completing upgrades and retrofits to Mega Fluid Systems equipment on schedule and within budget; maintaining accurate service records, spare parts inventories, and project progress reports, including revisions to technical documentation.
- Writing and completing a Functional Test Matrix, as well as understanding and editing a Software Functionality Statement.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations as outlined by Mega Fluid Systems training and client site requirements.
Plumbing Expertise:
- Experience with PFA tubing and related hardware components, including flaring, bending, and assembly. Familiarity with Flaretek2, PrimeLock, Fit-Line, and Pillar systems.
- Ability to read and interpret plumbing P&ID drawings.
- Proficient in using ACAD or 3D e-drawings to replicate architectural plumbing layouts onto cabinets.
- Understanding of pneumatic systems, including the conversion of electrical signals from PLCs to pneumatic components, with the ability to troubleshoot comprehensively.
Electrical Skills:
- Competence in basic wiring, panel assembly, wire routing, and terminations, including the use of various crimpers.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits across various voltages, employing DMMs to verify circuit parameters.
- Capability to read and understand electrical schematics for effective troubleshooting.
- Experience in installing, repairing, and upgrading robotic automation systems.
Industrial Control Knowledge:
- Familiarity with industrial HMIs, PLCs, and associated graphic interfaces, including configuration and alarm management.
- Ability to interface with OEM components, utilizing available manuals for troubleshooting.
Customer and Project Management:
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal teams and clients.
- Problem-solving abilities to address challenges as they arise.
- Providing detailed written updates through daily reporting.
General Skills:
- Employing the above skills to conduct tests on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and chemical systems via a Functional Test Matrix (FTM). This includes verifying safety mechanisms, alarms, and overall functionality of Mega Fluid Systems equipment.
- Exceptional customer interaction skills, demonstrating discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to work autonomously and inspire excellence in others; fostering a culture of initiative.
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, complemented by outstanding customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
- Physical capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel frequently is required.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Power Apps.
- Familiarity with various mobile applications.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
- OSHA10 Certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of formal technical training or experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills outlined in this description.
