The Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness at Virginia Union University is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive institutional research program to support strategic planning, evidence-based decision-making, and institutional effectiveness. The Director collaborates closely with campus leaders and colleges to facilitate resource allocation, enrollment management, and other critical data systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive institutional research program, including the management of university databases and information systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to inform strategic planning and resource management decisions.
  • Produce and present reports and data visualizations for senior leadership and other key stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication of findings.
  • Ensure compliance with all data reporting requirements, including state, federal, and accreditation mandates.
  • Lead and manage a team of researchers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Work with various departments and stakeholders to identify research needs and opportunities, supporting the University's mission and goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in institutional research and higher education.
  • Utilize Student Information Systems.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Education:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field is required; a PhD is preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in institutional research or a related area, with a strong background in data analysis and reporting.
