Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Manager of Advancement Services. This role is responsible for managing all core data functions of the Office of Institutional Advancement, including gift entry, timely acknowledgement letters, routine financial reporting, list pulling, prospect research, and supporting office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect databases
  • Ensure timely and effective acknowledgement of gifts and donations
  • Provide routine financial reporting and analysis to support fundraising efforts
  • Develop and maintain lists of potential donors and prospects
  • Conduct research on potential donors and prospects to support fundraising efforts
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and other team members as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, marketing, or non-profit management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, data management, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices and data systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience working in higher education or a non-profit organization
  • Knowledge of professional fundraising software and systems
