Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Renal Vascular Nurse Leader is responsible for ensuring and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care while coordinating all functions within the unit/department during the assigned shift. In partnership with other management team members, the Nurse Leader directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engaging in the continuous assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other management team members.
  • Working with subject matter experts and other managers to cultivate a collaborative environment that promotes improved outcomes and service.
  • Championing a patient-first philosophy and participating in service recovery when necessary.
  • Supporting facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
  • Providing input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommending and executing actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assisting with staff scheduling and managing labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
  • Overseeing inventory control and assisting with the management of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Registered Nurse diploma.
