The Cardiac and Vascular Institute is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cath Lab/ASC department. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general nursing care to patients, including pre-procedural assessment and care, and post-procedural assessment and care.
- Assist with cardiac and peripheral diagnostic procedures and peripheral interventional procedures as prescribed by a physician.
- Maintain patient bays for necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness and preparing equipment for procedures.
- Review and maintain patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, posting tests and examination results as needed.
- Administer moderate sedation under the direct physician supervision and administer intra-procedural medications as ordered.
- Perform life-saving techniques, such as CPR and first aid, as necessary.
- Practice sterile technique and prevent cross contamination, handling blood and body fluids with appropriate precautions.
- Facilitate a safe patient culture and perform follow-up calls to patients as needed.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, as well as confidentiality policies.
- RN degree
- Minimum of one year pre/post procedure or pre/post op environment experience
- State RN license (current and ongoing, clear and unrestricted)
- Current and ongoing BLS and ACLS certification
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices to give and evaluate patient care
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality
- Skills in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care
- Ability to maintain quality control standards, react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, and communicate clearly
The Registered Nurse will work in a varied setting, including exam rooms, office, laboratory, and sometimes in close quarters. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to radiology settings is possible.
The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff, and will have the ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
