Your Role
The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician, Level II within the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division is responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks at commercial and industrial solar energy sites. This position requires extensive travel, and candidates should ideally be located in or near Indiana. ***$2,500 Sign-On Bonus for Indiana residents or candidates willing to relocate to Indiana***
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
- Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized individual under established safety conditions.
- Facilitate daily safety and task planning discussions, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
- Maintain professional interactions with vendors and customers.
- Collaborate as a team member to support onsite work, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Note: Specific duties may change over time based on business and client requirements.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical proficiency related to electrical systems and components.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Renewable energy (Battery, Wind, or Solar).
- Strong commitment to safety and detail-oriented with the ability to identify potential issues and implement safe solutions.
- Post-secondary education is preferred.
- Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E are advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external standards.
Work Environment:
At PEARCE, safety is our top priority. Candidates must adhere to OSHA Standards.
- Candidates should reside in or near Indiana.
- This role may involve rotating shifts (100% travel is required).
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work in ergonomically challenging positions.
- Work in varied climates depending on project locations.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate/DOE and Per Diem. ***$2,500 Sign-On Bonus for Indiana residents or candidates willing to relocate to Indiana***
