Your Role

The Travel Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician, Level II within the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division is responsible for executing operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks along with physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and conduct preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
  • Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized individual under proper LOTO conditions.
  • Facilitate daily safety and task planning meetings, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Engage with vendors and clients in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate as a team member to support onsite operations, emphasizing safety, quality, and efficiency.

Note: Specific responsibilities may evolve based on business and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical expertise related to electrical systems and components.
  • Preferred experience of 2 years in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential issues and propose safe solutions.
  • Post-secondary education is advantageous.
  • Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E are preferred.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards.

Work Environment

  • Candidates should be located in or near the designated work area.
  • This position requires potential rotating shifts and 100% travel.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in ergonomically challenging positions.
  • Work in various climates depending on location.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and per diem provided.
