Your Role

The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician, Level II within the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division is responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks, as well as physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects. This position requires extensive travel; candidates should ideally be located in or near Indiana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
  • Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized individual under appropriate conditions.
  • Facilitate daily safety and task planning discussions, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Engage with vendors and clients in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate as a team member to support site operations, which may involve supervising field work with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Note: Specific duties may change over time based on business and client requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical experience related to electrical systems and components.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Renewable Energy (Battery, Wind, or Solar).
  • A strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential issues and implement safe solutions.
  • Post-secondary education is advantageous.
  • Preferred electrical certifications include OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to fulfill Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Ideal candidates should reside in or near Indiana.
  • This role requires working possible rotating shifts and entails 100% travel.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work in ergonomically challenging positions.
  • Work in varied climates depending on project locations.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate/DOE and Per Diem. ***$2,500 Sign-On Bonus for Indiana residents or candidates willing to relocate to Indiana.***
