Your Role

The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician, Level II within the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division is responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks, alongside physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy sites. This position requires extensive travel; candidates should be located in or near Indiana. ***$2,500 Sign-On Bonus for Indiana residents or those willing to relocate to Indiana***

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and conduct preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
  • Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized individual under properly executed LOTO conditions.
  • Engage in daily safety and task planning discussions, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Maintain professional interactions with vendors and clients.
  • Collaborate as a team member to support site operations, which may involve supervising fieldwork with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Note: Specific duties may adapt over time based on business and client requirements.

Core Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of electrical expertise related to electrical systems and components is essential.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Renewable Energy (Battery, Wind, or Solar).
  • A strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential issues and propose safe solutions.
  • Post-secondary education is advantageous.
  • Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E are preferred.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external standards are required.

Work Environment:

  • Candidates should be located in or near Indiana.
  • The role may involve rotating shifts (100% travel is mandatory for this position).
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work in ergonomically challenging positions.
  • Exposure to varied climates depending on project locations.

Compensation: $$ hourly/DOE and Per Diem ***$2,500 Sign-On Bonus for Indiana residents or candidates willing to relocate to Indiana***
