Lead AIT Engineer

Turion Space is seeking a highly skilled Lead AIT Engineer to oversee the assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace projects. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that all systems and components meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of AIT engineers and technicians, providing guidance and ensuring team members are effectively supporting mission objectives.
- Assembly and Integration: Oversee the assembly and integration of spacecraft and satellite systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Testing and Validation: Plan and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures for spacecraft and satellite systems, ensuring that all systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot issues during assembly, integration, and testing phases, implementing corrective actions and working with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of assembly, integration, and testing processes, ensuring that all activities are documented according to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, systems engineers, and project managers to ensure successful integration and testing of systems, facilitating communication between teams to address integration challenges.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in AIT processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall performance.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft or satellite systems, with a proven track record of leading AIT activities.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of AIT processes, including mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and system testing, with proficiency in AIT tools and software.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience in guiding and mentoring engineering teams.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
- Education: Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in AIT roles, with significant experience in high-precision or mission-critical space systems.
- Advanced Skills: Expertise in advanced AIT techniques, including experience with complex spacecraft or satellite systems and high-stakes missions.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in systems engineering or AIT processes, such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or AIT certification.
- Industry Experience: Extensive experience in aerospace or space technology sectors, particularly with large-scale or high-complexity space missions.
- Innovation: Proven track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in AIT processes and systems.
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.
