The Commonwealth of Virginia is in search of a Facilities Coordinator. This role is pivotal in managing various aspects of facility operations, including:

  • Coordinating repair work with external property management.
  • Assessing the agency's asset requirements and communicating procurement needs to management.
  • Allocating workspace effectively and arranging conference and meeting room setups.
  • Overseeing telecommunication equipment and ensuring accountability.
  • Administering the agency's parking pass program and upholding security measures within the facility.
  • Processing small purchase card and procurement requests.
  • Preparing for emergency response situations.

This position plays a crucial role in supporting the agency's mission and contributes to the facilities team while also tracking non-IT assets. The Facilities Coordinator is essential in establishing a systematic and organized approach to internal operations, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives, all while delivering exceptional customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to engage with employees, contractors, and suppliers at all levels.
  • Adaptability to changing or unforeseen facility-related demands.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making to maintain daily operations and ensure a well-kept and conducive work environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with general financial principles and procurement practices.
  • Capability to troubleshoot audio-visual issues in meeting spaces and liaise with vendors for resolution.
  • Comprehensive understanding of facilities management and administrative support.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with eVA for entering purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Familiarity with Visio software.
