The Coast Guard Community Services Command is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing exceptional services to our community. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Assistant to join our team.
We offer a competitive salary of $16.50 per hour, based on the national average for similar positions in New London, CT.
Job DescriptionAs a Child Care Assistant, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that foster socialization, creativity, and learning.
- Providing high-quality care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborating with colleagues to establish a positive and inclusive program environment.
- Communicating effectively with parents and staff members to ensure seamless transitions and consistent care.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 18 years of age.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 45 pounds, as well as stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
