Position Overview

HOURS: Part Time M-F 3:30pm-5:30pm

Areas of Instruction: Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, Soccer, Kabaddi.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Sports Instructor, under the direction of the Program Director, plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and development of children participating in the Youth Sports Program. This position emphasizes mentorship and the instillation of core values such as teamwork, honesty, respect, and responsibility, while providing each child with the support needed to achieve their personal best.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols.
  2. Offer leadership and guidance to youth participants, embodying the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  3. Ensure a positive and encouraging experience for every participant, fostering their personal growth.
  4. Serve as a positive role model for all players and participants.
  5. Possess knowledge of emergency procedures and implement them as required.
  6. Report all incidents promptly to the supervisor and complete necessary documentation.
  7. Maintain a constructive relationship with parents, reflecting a family-friendly environment.
  8. Monitor the whereabouts of all players during practices and games.
  9. Inspect equipment and play areas for safety hazards prior to activities.
  10. Notify the director of any equipment issues or damages.
  11. Show respect for officials and encourage a positive atmosphere during games.
  12. Provide constructive feedback to players in a supportive manner.
  13. Exemplify sportsmanship for players and spectators alike.
  14. Participate in mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
  15. Communicate any program-related concerns to the supervisor without delay.
  16. Accurately record hours worked using the designated time-tracking system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Experience in instructing youth in various sports activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive attitude towards teamwork and fair play among children.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills, with a focus on being a positive role model.
  • Enthusiastic, engaging, and positive demeanor.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant policies and operational procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform normal activities associated with a sports program, including walking, standing, running, and lifting.
