Youth Sports Coach

HOURS: Part Time M-F 3:30pm-5:30pm
Areas of Instruction: Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, Soccer, Kabaddi.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director, the Youth Sports Coach is tasked with ensuring the safety and guidance of children participating in the Youth Sports Program, particularly those within their designated team or group. This role emphasizes mentorship, fostering values centered around teamwork, integrity, compassion, respect, and responsibility, while providing encouragement for each child to achieve their maximum potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to youth participants, embodying the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Ensure a positive experience for each participant, motivating them to reach their personal best.
- Serve as a positive role model for players and participants.
- Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and implement them as necessary.
- Report all incidents promptly to the immediate supervisor and complete necessary documentation.
- Maintain a constructive relationship with parents, reflecting a family-friendly environment.
- Monitor the whereabouts of all players during practices and games.
- Inspect equipment and play areas for safety hazards prior to games, ensuring a secure environment for participation.
- Report any equipment issues or damages to the director.
- Show respect for officials at all times.
- Encourage players positively, avoiding negative comments from the sidelines, and maintain a non-competitive atmosphere.
- Address player mistakes discreetly and supportively.
- Exemplify sportsmanship for both team members and spectators.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
- Communicate any concerns regarding the program, equipment, or facilities to the supervisor without delay.
- Accurately log hours worked using the designated time-recording system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Experience in instructing youth in various recreational sports.
- Ability to promote a positive attitude towards fair play and teamwork among children.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills, with the capacity to serve as an effective role model.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and engaging demeanor.
- Comprehensive understanding of organizational policies and operations relevant to the program.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform normal activities associated with a sports program, including walking, standing, running, jumping, lifting, and communicating effectively.
