Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations, as well as promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management
    • Ensure AISIN North Carolina Corporation's compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations, including OSHA 1910 and other federal, state, and local statutes.
    • Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
  • Safety Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives to reduce workplace risks and injuries.
    • Collaborate with plant personnel to promote a safety-minded culture and foster a positive safety environment.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and deliver training programs to employees on various safety and health topics, including behavioral-based safety philosophies.
    • Collaborate with the business unit to develop training programs on safety and health issues.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Organize and maintain all safety and health compliance records in accordance with corporate specifications and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and submit reports on safety and health metrics, including injury and illness rates.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response
    • Develop and maintain an effective emergency evacuation and fire prevention program for all AISIN North Carolina facilities.
    • Coordinate emergency response activities, including incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead the AISIN North Carolina Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee.
    • Collaborate with all levels of the organization to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of practical experience in EHS, with at least 5 years of management experience in a large and complex manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 and other relevant safety and health regulations.
    • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work well with all levels of employees and accomplish results in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Physical Demands
  • Working in an industrial environment and with associated external properties.
  • Lifting and handling heavy objects up to 50 pounds; frequent walking/standing.
  • Driving/traveling to/from/between AISIN North Carolina facilities, vendors/suppliers, and other sites/locations as necessary.
