Job Summary: We are seeking a highly responsible and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Crossing Guard. As a Crossing Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of students and pedestrians at designated intersections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and guide children and pedestrians across traffic intersections.
- Stop traffic to ensure the safety of school children and other pedestrians crossing at designated intersections.
- Signal to pedestrians indicating when streets are safe to cross.
- Guide and assist children and other pedestrians across intersections.
- Maintain order as children approach the intersection.
- Report traffic violations to supervisor and provide vehicle description including license plate number, make, model, and color.
- Inform supervisor of traffic signal malfunctions and construction projects on assigned posts.
- Respond to requests for geographic directions from the public.
Working Conditions: This position requires prolonged exposure to inclement weather conditions and loud noise.
Requirements:
- Impeccable attendance and punctuality.
- Flexibility in hours and work location.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to quickly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with one's body, arms, and/or legs.
