Skate Rink Monitor

Job Summary:

ASM Global is seeking a skilled Skate Guard to join our team at the McFetridge Sports Center. As a Skate Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of ice skating patrons. This is a part-time hourly non-exempt position that requires a moderate to very busy work pace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise on-ice skating traffic to prevent accidents and ensure a safe skating environment
• Check hand stamps to verify that skaters have paid for admission
• Monitor skaters for excessive speed or reckless behavior
• Communicate effectively with skaters, fellow guards, and supervisors to maintain a smooth and enjoyable skating experience
• Perform routine skating session maintenance as assigned and as necessary
• Provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively with fellow arena staff
• Assist with other Ice Arena special events, such as open houses and holiday programs
• Ensure that rink policies are observed and upheld

Requirements:

• Ability to work standing or skating for long periods of time
• Supervisory skills and ability to monitor skaters and arena patrons
• Ice skating skills and general fitness experience
