Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Automation System Engineer to provide program oversight for operating and maintaining all building automation systems, maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.

This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for supporting, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a total facilities systems management program, including all connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems.
  • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives regarding system operations and work safety.
  • Inspect systems to ensure equipment operation is within design capabilities and achieves the client's prescribed operational conditions.
  • Responsible for programming, inspecting, troubleshooting, and adjusting electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies, summoning assistance as needed.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and resources, and order vital materials to finish repairs.
  • Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance, complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Finish required and assigned training at a satisfactory level.
  • Participate in all related programs and activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury and stop work if required.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Mentor others and share in-depth knowledge of their own job discipline and broad understanding of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values, work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain complex or critical information.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience is preferred.
  • A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma.
  • Licenses or certifications as may be required by local applicable law or ordinance are also preferred.
  • Prior shift leader or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new point of view on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive approach.
